Runoff Management—Residents can visit the
City’s Web site to view the Urban Runoff Management Plan. The Plan details the
City’s action to protect and improve water quality of the lakes, rivers, and
creeks in the region, and achieve compliance with the State Municipal Storm
Water Permit.
The Urban Runoff Management Plan has been posted to
allow public access and understanding of the overall efforts of the City
Manager’s office to improve water quality in the City of Desert Park.
Implementing the plan is one of the six objectives of the City’s Storm Water
Pollution Prevention Program to help improve water quality.
The City Council approved the plan last January,
and it is effective through February of 2007. At the City’s Web site, click on
“City Services,” and choose “Storm Water Pollution Prevention.” See the EPA Watershed
site.
Drinking Water—Regulations from the
State Public Health Services Drinking Water Program and the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) require all community water systems to
deliver an annual Consumer Confidence Report (water quality report) to
customers. The City of

meet all state and federal regulations, without exception. This report includes
other information of interest to many consumers: water quality test results; definitions;
information on our sources of water supply; how to reduce exposure to lead in
drinking water; and special notice for immuno-compromised
